You can add me on Strava. I don’t use it socially, but it’s a nice way to automatically track runs. It connects to my Fitbit Inspire 3.

2025-11-11: going easy on myself

Did a 2.8 km run in a solid 16m32s pace. Should have gone for at least 3 km, but surely will next time. I definitely feel like getting back into shape.

2025-11-07: recovery from sickness

Very busy past week. Had a friend visiting from abroad, and then I got sick for a bit. But did a run in the evening, was able to do easy 2.5 km in ~15 minutes.

I could definitely go for more, but I am recovering, plus had a gym session earlier that day, so decided to not push myself too much.

2025-10-28: halfway to 5 km

I’ve been using a pair of Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 for a couple years now, and they are undeniably the best shoes I’ve ever owned. But they aren’t suitable for running anymore (though for everyday use I’ll have them for as long as possible).

Shoes are unreasonably marked-up in Baku, so I had to settle for a new pair of New Balance Fresh Foam 520 V9. They are good enough for now.

On a test run for the new pair, I did a 2.5 km run in about 15 minutes — halfway to 5 km!

2025-10-27: back at running

I got back into running after a long break. Earlier this year, I was able run 5 km in about 30 minutes, but now I am pretty out of shape.

I did two runs today: one to check out a gym near my new apartment and another one in the evening around my building.

Sustaining 5 km is a big challenge for now, but my 1 km pace was 5:48 which is not too bad.
